Offshore Deep Sea Fishing
Charter a Florida Fishing Guide
Monday July 24, 2017
The idea of the "Deep Sea" often conjures up thoughts of Hemingway and The Old Man and the Sea story. While Hemingway's classic story of a Cuban man's epic battle against a giant billfish makes for a great adventure story, you can also have your offshore adventure when you visit Florida's coastline near Port Canaveral and Cocoa Beach.
"Fish," he said softly, aloud, "I'll stay with you until I am dead."
― Ernest Hemingway, The Old Man and the Sea
Almost every summer day Captain Richard Bradley of Lagooner Fishing Guides can be found fishing and playing around the offshore colbalt blue waters near Canaveral National Seashore. "He's not Santiago in Hemmingway's story, but he's our Old Man of the Sea" explains his wife Gina. Richard keeps us busy all year fishing, surfing and playing outdoors. He's a true outdoorsman and loves the adventure while showing others what he grew up doing in the offshore waters around The Space Coast.
Offshore deep sea fishing is a thrilling experience for anyone to engage in. If you're looking for high Seas Adventure, look to Captain Richard and Lagooner Fishing Guides to take you this season on deep sea fishing trip you'll not soon forget.

Reunion of friends and return to a favorite locale. - We were 2 elderly gentlemen, one from south Florida the other from the Northern end, both long time anglers and of course both know-it-alls. Of course the only one who knew what was going on in the Indian River was Capt. Richard. It rapidly became clear that the Lagoon was an extension of his home and that its creatures were his neighbors. He knew the corridors taken by the fish, the haunts of the baitfish which attracted them and what the activities of the birds was revealing about both. Conditions were tough but his knowledge payed off with a few good fish. But it's more than that. Capt. Richard is a true native, knowledgeable in the areas of the biology, the economics and politics of coastal Florida with a strong interest in the future health of the region. After our extremely enjoyable day on the water we both felt greatly enriched and informed by the experience. Captains Richard and Gina kept us in the loop from the moment we booked until it was time to head home, even told us where not to eat in Cocoa Beach.
